DEXEROUS. i want you stuffed into my mouth, hold you down and tear you open live inside you - love i'd never hurt you.
╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ Summer was finally upon them, and with it the strength of Yellowstone breathed life into Cougar Creek Pack. Prey was abundant and the pack ranks were inflating. Dexerous was pleased with the way things were going; Cougar Creek maintained everything it stood for - strong and undaunted. The brute had heard rumours of Grand Canyon's success, they two were thriving in the warm summer months. Dexerous scoffed, giving his fur a rough shake as though to banish such unpleasant thoughts. Cougar Creek was and always will be the strongest pack of Yellowstone, he couldn't wait until those faint hearted mutts of Grand Canyon collapsed in on themselves. Dexerous settled at the edge of the plateau, breathing in the warm, alluring scents of the earth, prey, and pack mates around him. If Cougar Creek was to remain strong, they needed alliance, not just to their alpha, but to each other. As sappy as this may have sounded, it was true. Loyalty simply was not conjured up out of nowhere - it came from the gentle tugging of heart strings. These wolves needed to feel attached to one another, desired and accepted by one another, this would create unification.
Dexerous rose to his paws, lifting his muzzle toward the heavens. He parted his jaws, breathing in the crisp air, feeling it fill his lungs like hot adrenaline. Finally, he let out the ghostly, sorrowful cry of all wolves, his howl would echo about the plateau and beckon his pack mates forward. This was Cougar Creek's first meeting and their first opportunity to grow as a pack. His comrades would come, strong and proud of what they stood for, this was the beginning of their reign.
ooc: oh blah, my muse is awful. sorry my loves. Lien, Adelaide, Rafiti, Dyrid, Nightlock

you'll see that i'm not scared
While summer had fallen upon them quickly, filled with bountiful prey and warm nights, there was still no time for relaxation. At least not for Lien. As it was, the Healer laid inside the cool, shady dens, mentally going over the inventory of herbs and plants that had been gathered. It was a bountiful amount, with enough to last them through a few seasons, and some that could even be reserved until the winter. There was aloe vera and marigolds, camomile and buckthorn...she'd even found some milk thistle, which worked wonders on those who'd been poisoned. The stock was growing steadily by the day, and Lien had to admit that she was pleased. Adelaide had done her fair share of helping populate their stock as well, something that Lien was grateful for. She'd never had an apprentice before, and in the beginning she'd been wary, but Adelaide seemed to know what she was doing well enough, so Lien relented. It was nice, in a way, to be able to share her knowledge with someone who was willing to learn. She still knew very little about Adelaide, but it was more than she knew about the other pack members. She had socialized with them very little she realized, frowning at the plants that rested at her paws. Lien wasn't the most sociable of wolves to begin with, but regardless, they were a pack now, and she needed to become well antiquated with each of them.
Almost as if her thoughts had been projected, a howl suddenly rang out across Cougar Creek. It was undoubtedly Dexerous, for Lien would know the call of her alpha anywhere, and he was demanding that they join him. Organizing the plants back into the makeshift box that Lien had made by piling sturdy sticks atop one another against the flat stone wall, she turned and trotted out into the sunshine, stretching her legs. Taking a moment to lick any traces of dirt from her ivory pelt until she was spotless, Lien set off at a quick trot, golden eyes seeming to glisten in the sunlight. She found him near the plateau where he sat waiting, and she slowed her approach to a walk, dipping her head respectfully as she came upon him. She stopped a fair distance away from him, as was appropriate for her rank, lowering herself to her haunches as she flicked her triangular ears, listening for the approach of the others.
"Good morning," she said simply, her eyes on Dexerous as she spoke. Her voice was light and silky, but all the while her mind worked. Had he called them simply so that they could finally meet officially? Up until this moment, Lien had only caught passing glances of the others. She'd made no effort to stop and talk to them, for she was usually busy when she spotted them, but this time would be different. This time she would observe and take silent notes of each of them; it could only help, after all.

The pale female had heard the call of her leader. He was summoning the pack for a meeting and Rafiti had yet to encounter any of her fellow pack mates, other than the alpha himself. Was there going to be a pack hunt? A battle rally? The silver wolf slid through the underbrush as smoothly as a fish in water. She soon came to a clearing where her leader and presumably another pack member were already waiting. Wolf nudged Tiger at the thought of a war. She had heard about a weaker pack who called themselves the Grand Canyon pack. She snickered just thinking about them. If you asked her, they all belonged in a nursery. She gave a sly smirk to Dex and a greeting nod to the other female. "What's with all of the commotion? Are we planning a war? Are we gathering for a pack hunt?" She immediately shut her mouth, knowing that Dex would explain once everyone arrived.

The young apprentice had been running around like a chicken with her head cut off. She had been doing everything she possibly could to please Lien and show her that she was worthy of being her apprentice. The white she wolf was kind and very goal oriented, a big thing that she shared with Adelaide. Her tail gave a small shake as she made her way around the small woodland. She had been out looking for juniper berries and poppy seeds. Both, of which, helped the wolves relax, sleep, and/or calm down from a traumatic encounter. They weren't too hard to find, but they thrived in the summer, and it was always best to find them in the warmer seasons such as late spring and early summer. That way, there would be plenty grown by the return of spring. So far, she had been successful. She had two or three mouthfuls of each cupped in a giant elephant leaf that hung from her jaws. It was a trait she had picked up when she was on her own. She was able to carry prey, herbs, and anything else she needed in the giant leaf that was almost as large as her. Now, she just had to return back to Lien's den and give her what she had collected. However, a long, low howl filled the air and she recognized it instantly. Dexerous, her alpha. It was time for a pack meeting. Adelaide sighed, she was too far from Lien's den if she was going to make it to the meeting in time, so it seemed she was just going to have to take her bundle with her.
The young she wolf turned on her heels, heading in the direction of the howl. She soon found them on the plateau. She was the one of the last ones to show up, as Lien and a female she didn't recognize was already here. Her ears flicked apologetically as she took her place beside Lien, her head lowered, though she whined a small greeting to Dexerous. Adelaide sat her herbs down on the ground, running her tongue respectively over her mentors shoulder before rising her icy blue gaze up to the alpha. "I apologize for being late. I was out on a supply run." She murmured gently, her eyes as sorry as her voice. She then turned her head as the other female, the one she did not know spoke up. She was speaking of war and hunts and at the thought of a battle, Adelaide felt her fur start to bristle and a small shudder run down her spine. However, she forced herself to take a deep breath and calm down. She assumed it was no such thing. Maybe they were just meeting to get to know one another? Yeah, that was a much better idea. However, Adelaide still had the vivid memory of her day with the Grand Canyon wolf, Lycurgus, bright in her mind. A war now...who's side was she really on? She was going to really have to think about that at some point.

DEXEROUS. i want you stuffed into my mouth, hold you down and tear you open live inside you - love i'd never hurt you.
╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ The white vixen appeared first, her pelt stark and brilliant in contrast to the colour absorbed world around her. Her vivid eyes flickered toward the alpha, a silken voice followed her presence. Sometime of a smile made it's way onto Dexerous' lips, to which he greeted Lien with a slight tip of his muzzle. "Greetings, Lien. How're things working out between you and Adelaide?" Admittedly, the alpha had taken little time to think about whether the fae even wanted to mentor the young wolf. How rude had he been. Though it would do very little to haunt his thoughts, Lien knew as well as he that her knowledge was valuable and much needed. It was her duty to pass this knowledge on and ensure the pack's future. Had Lien ever had any objections to her duties, a complaint never slipped form her lips.
Rafiti shortly followed and the brute's previous thoughts were banished. The unranked vixen greeted him with a smirk before casting her eyes toward Lien and greeting her with a nod. Dexerous watched on with mild interest, curious of the interactions of his pack mates. It was true that many of which were all strangers to one another, curious of the others or perhaps even uneasy. Yet they would need to learn that these wolves were not their "blood" or as close to it as you could get. Call it cheesy if you were, but Cougar Creek needed to function as a family group - a dysfunctional family perhaps - but pack strength came from the core of loyalty.
Rafiti possessed an eagerness that was almost amusing, something about the way she fired those questions seemed malicious yet innocent. Only planning a war, it's like it happens every day! And then, as if realizing her over enthusiasm, the vixen silenced herself, eagerly awaiting the verdict of her alpha. Dexerous chuckled, nodding his head in greetings. "Patience, my love, you shall soon find out."
And lastly, came young Adelaide. In her mouth she dutifully carried herbs whose purpose was beyond the alpha. Her eyes and posture bread sorrowful apology, with her heard ducked low in a bashful greeting. It almost heart breaking, in a kicked puppy sort of way, yet only Dexerous would see it as a charming coax to his dominance. Dexerous dipped his head, relieving her of her sorrowful apology. Amber eyes flickered past the vixens as if anticipating the arrival of others. His ever clever spy, Dyrid, and the naive Nightlock still remained unaccounted for. Dex flexed the muscles in his shoulders, blinking away impatient scorn as he looked back toward the vixens. "Don't be so quiet, darlings, we're all friends here!" The brute purred with a grin. "This is your time to meet one another: your comrades, your allies - when you are loyal to me, to Cougar Creek, you are loyal to one another. You don't just fight for glory, you fight for each other."
