DIGGING A LITTLE DEEPER;;
Appearance: Robin is a slightly smaller than average wolf, most likely as a result of poor nutrition during the earlier stages of her development, standing about an inch shorter than the average female. Despite the thick coat of fur, flecked with soft greys and browns, she is actually a very slim and agile young wolf. Her eyes are a dark shade of brown, without the characteristic golden hue that many wolves offer, but her coat holds a very typical colouration. For the most part a dusty shade of brown and dismal shade of grey cover her fur, with darker shades transcending from the back of her head, along her neck, shoulders, back and rump to fade into the brown shades of her tale. One of the most identifying marks she carries is a streak of strong, vibrant golden brown from her nose to the space between her eyes, a small black marking sitting just above the nose; though most of her muzzle shares a much paler, creamy white shade with her stomach and legs.
Personality: Robin is a quiet and seemingly shy young wolf, she won’t often speak up and as a result she can be rather easily bullied, but she is a great girl to have on your side if you need a friend. Due to the rather difficult start she had to life Robin can be withdrawn and find it difficult to make friends or trust others, in her anxiety she can even appear to be aggressive at times. However, those who gain her trust and those she comes to treasure can expect her full dedication, as she offers unwavering loyalty, compassion and generosity.
Although she is quiet and withdrawn Robin dislikes being alone and is likely to seek out companionship in everything she does, even if it means attempting to make a friend of her prey. She can be reluctant to leave the side of those she considers to be a friend for fear of losing them, her greatest fear is always that she will be left to die alone without the comfort of a pack. Surprisingly Robin is the independent type when it comes to taking care of herself, not wanting to be a burden to another she is much more likely to become a provider and share her kills than she is to accept food or help from another wolf. This makes her a great provider for a pack, but her soft-willed nature makes it impossible for her to maintain any authority in a group, even against pups.
History: Life for Robin actually started out very well, she was born to a small pack, just her parents and three older siblings from a previous litter. She and her littermate, a much larger brother, grew up with all the love and attention they could want, however food in their little valley wasn’t as plentiful. They had to be taught to hunt quickly, they needed to contribute to the pack in some way. By the time their first year had passed they had already joined in the hunts and worked with their parents to bring down even large bison.
However, the peace they experienced at this age was not to last. During their second summer, just a year old, the hunt went wrong and the pack were caught in a stampede. Three members of her family died that day, including her brother, and everyone was injured. Robin had lost her best friend, the remaining members of her family were too hurt to hunt and when a neighbouring pack challenged them for their hunting range they were unable to defend it and found themselves driven out. Hunger, thirst, exhaustion, infection, illness; it seemed that every unfavourable force one could imagine had chosen these dark days to strike down at the small pack. They were weakened ever further until only Robin remained.
For a while Robin’s depression got the better of her, and she staggered from place to place, simply surviving. From time to time she would find a bear or fox that tolerated her presence enough for her to travel lose to them, but it wasn’t until she had reached her third year that she found a friend once more. An old male who had lost to a challenger for the position of alpha in his pack, they wandered together for a while. Although he pushed her around he was a leader and she enjoyed having that structure in her life again, so when they parted ways some months later Robin had recovered from her own misery and felt driven to find a pack.
Eventually, this caused her to seek out the Grand Canyon pack, in hopes of joining their family.
