Niklaus, Elijah and Rebekah are all settled in the town, ready to reclaim what was once theirs. Klaus wants what Marcel has and he won't stop until he gets it. With Marcel claiming himself King of New Orleans, Klaus has decided to take matters into his own hands and do whatever it takes to not only take what's rightfully his, as in Marcel's current position in New Orleans, but he is also doing everything he can to protect Hayley and his unborn child from the witches in town.And if that wasn't enough, when Bonnie let the veil drop, it never closed so now the dead undead are roaming around town causing trouble and Silas and Qetsiyah have found themselves in the world and are taking everything they want and right now, it is Amara. Meanwhile, Stefan has finally mysteriously escaped the safe and no one knows who released him or why. So, everyone is searching for him in hopes that they will find him and of course, Katherine, trying to ruin Elena's life because that Elena has the happiness that Katherine deserves but Elena has surprisingly forced the cure down her throat, making her a human again, slowly dying unless she can find some way to become a vampire again.
In the midst of everything going on in these two cities, Sam and Dean surprisingly haven't heard anything about the town Mystic Falls or the fact that vampires are running New Orleans at least not until recently. So, they are on their way to Mystic Falls to take care of every supernatural creature lingering in the towns. Dean has also found out that he has a doppelganger and was able to convince Alex that he is not impersonating him but they are family and after some convincing, both him and Alex are trying to be the one thing Alex has been running from, any connections at all, a family. The real question is, will Sam accept a vampire into their world or will he fight it?
Also, the Angels have been kicked out of heaven due to Metatron tricking Castiel into doing so. So, now the Angels are left to find a way to get back and reclaim their rightful home. Lucifer and Michael have mysteriously escaped the cage and not even Michael knows how it happened. The only information that Lucifer gave him is that the Demons have found a way to free them out of the cage. The reason that Lucifer does not share how it happened is because the only way to put him back, or defeat him, starts with knowing how the demons managed to get them out, which is some information that Lucifer left out when telling Michael about the demons. Now that they are out, first order of business for Lucifer and Michael is to take back their true vessels and, for Lucifer, to start the apocalypse once again with no interruptions this time and, hopefully, no battle with his big brother but now there are bigger problems seeing as how Lucifer got out was due to doppelganger blood and seeing as Dean is a doppelganger, he can easily put him back if he were to ever find out. How much longer until Dean finds out what his blood could truly do?
No one has heard anything from Silas since he woke up so they can only hope that something won't happen soon and Stefan is now out of the safe though he is keeping very quiet. Even if Silas were around, he would be the least of their problems because now, Lucifer has had a witch put a barrier around Mystic Falls so that anyone that enters can't leave except Sprites and Angels so that the Croatoan Virus can infect more people, making the virus spread a lot faster. Dean and Sam are trying to find a way to take him down and even though they don't have answers yet, Dean is getting very close to get Lilith to tell him how to put Lucifer back in the cage. Plus, Castiel has finally got some grace though it is not his so he will soon start to slowly fade unless he can get some more or, even better, maybe get his own grace so now he is able to help Sam and Dean in their quest to defeat the Devil himself. Will they be able to defeat Lucifer before the apocalypse gets out of hand?
