Personality:
Iskierka has been steadfastly stubborn since the day she could speak and think for herself. She is, in short, loud, opinionated, hot-tempered, and reckless. Once she has gotten an idea into her mind, she will allow no one to stop her and nothing to get in her way. While some would call her determined, others would call her arrogant, and often times she does not stop to consider the downside to her actions. She is whip-smart, but her quick thinking often leads her to act rashly, and she has a very small amount of patience. The worst thing that one could possibly call Iskierka is ”coward”; she rarely, if ever, backs down from a challenge, which is not entirely a positive thing when the odds are not in her favor. While she is certainly brave with the spirit of a warrior, Iskierka has trouble fitting into pack life due to her very abrupt nature and her tendency to disobey orders. With a good dose of patience and discipline, she would be a valuable addition to any group, and when she comes to care about something, she is fiercely loyal and passionate. She does not necessarily mean any harm with her behavior, as she simply craves the idea of living a courageous, fun life, and wishes to leave her mark on the world.
History:
Born to two loner parents in Yellowstone, Iskierka was graced with the vivid red fur of her mother and deep, fiery eyes. She was birthed in the dark depths of a cavern, nestled again two brothers and a sister. From the beginning, it was clear that while Iskierka was not the largest pup, she was certainly the liveliest. The moment that she could speak, it became very clear that she had acquired her temperament from her mother, harsh and boisterous in behavior. Both of her parent’s species, the red wolf and the Apennine, produced a high tendency to provocation in the pup; she was prone to brawl with her brothers and hiss scathing insults at her daintier sisters. As the pups grew, the smallest of Iskiera’s sisters passed away to illness, shortly followed by one of her brothers. This her mother blamed entirely on herself, falling into a brief period of depression; being of the red wolf species, she had known that the possibility of losing pups was very real, but had mated anyways.
Iskierka was always prone to show affection to her father more than her mother, who flickered between emotions quicker than the weather changed. She was never particularly close to any of her siblings, although the only one who she could remotely tolerate was her last living brother. In the beginning, Iskierka would sneak away whenever their parents weren’t watching, ridiculing her brother until he joined her for one of her “adventures”. This often involved hunting squirrels, playing tag, and wrestling in the forest. As they aged, her brother accompanied her less and less until Iskierka began to sneak off alone. Despite her mother’s irritation at her behavior, she would still go. Often times she would overhear her parents quarreling on her behalf, with her mother insisting that Iskierka was out of control while her father scoffed and claimed that she had “all the feisty of a warrior”. And indeed she did, for while her sister was more prone to helping their mother with shaman-like abilities and her brother preferred quietly scouting, Iskierka was always quick to meet any threat alongside her father. Hunting was not her strong suite; she was far too impatient to wait, and often times her prey would escape her in her reckless haste, so this she left to her brother and instead took up the role of ‘warrior’ in their tiny pack. While it was effective, her father continued to chide her for her lack of discipline, stating that she would need more order to ever function in a true pack. She never truly considered his words to be of much importance concerning the matter.
As she grew, Iskierka began to grow bored of the monotony life with her family provided. By this time she was nearing her fourth year, and while her brother and sister showed no signs of breaking from their aging parents, Iskierka longed for more. She parted from them one day with a sudden burst of inspiration burning through her, driving her paws, pushing her on.
