So I dunno how to credit my avatar, which I got off of deviantart stock images. I am curious how and if we have to do this for all avatars or signatures? It's by HOTNStock @ deviantart.com hotnstock.deviantart.com/art/Timber-Wolf-Stock-11-342366771So there is my credit, just in case anyone was curious. If I need to credit somewhere else, let me know and I'd be glad to do so.

I don't believe we have anywhere to formally credit the images you use. You're welcome to provide links to the original images in your character's bio, so I suppose that'd be the best place to do it. I myself typically don't provide an obvious link/credit to an image unless the owner of the stock clearly demands it, but I always keep the links somewhere on hand in case anyone does want or need to see them. You could save them somewhere on your computer, or if you have a Deviantart account, simply add the images to your favorites to keep track of them. Another option is to provide the owner's name/credit directly on the image itself. I typically don't do this as it can take away from the quality of the image and sometimes the text (for avatars especially) can't even be read. It also requires a program or editing software capable of adding text to an image which not everyone is capable of either. So, best bet is to just find a way that you personally can keep track of the images and urls for them so that they can be provided if necessary.

Hmm.. I usually use the CC (Creative Common) license so that I don't have to worry about link backs. But, when I do use Deviantart I either edit the image and put the credit on there, or a put "Avatarcredit: url here" in my accounts signature!!
