A Quiet Fawn--
Fellow WOYers, I have a bit of news to share with you all. Fawn has been a busy bee in real life and has been struggling to find the time to work with or post on this site. So Fawn will be taking a temporary leave from Wolves of Yellowstone. In the meantime, I will be running the show as best as I can. Any questions, comments or concerns can be directed towards me and I will do my best to keep everything in order. That said, I am in the somewhat stressful process of buying a house in real life and the next several weeks will involve me rewiring, painting, and doing general contracting work on a house in addition to having to move in and find a new daily routine. But humor me through this, as I will continue to be active nonetheless.
Activity On The Site--
As with most new roleplaying sites, WOY is struggling a bit to develope a reliable member base. New members are few and far between, but this is to be expected for an old school style of post-by-post roleplay gaming. The more concerning issue is not a lack of members, but members who join us, become active, and then suddenly disappear altogether. When there are already very few members, this leads to unstable plots, abandoned threads and disheartened fellow roleplayers. While this is an inevitable part of roleplaying sites, I do hope that those players we have remaining are willing to try their best to pick up the pieces and continue on in the Yellowstone. Site activity will continue to be slow as long as we have only a few members who are on regularly. You, as fellow roleplayers, are more than welcome to take a proactive role in advertising this site to whomever you want, where ever you want if you'd like to help and see the member base increase. I have been trying to advertise quite a bit, but I don't believe I can do it alone. Please, spread the word where you can and let us find some new members! And please, humor the site in it's slow periods as well as it's active times. Check in regularly, post as often as you can, and ask around to start some plots! Maybe create another character or two! Remember you can always kill off or get rid of characters later on if you don't want to have too many, but having several characters now might help jumpstart the site!
My First Act In Congress--
As well as general site maintenance, character acceptance and advertising, I will be trying to take a proactive role in keeping the site updated. I plan to post any updates I have for you in the "Updates" section of the box at the top of the page, so try to glance at it now and then for any new information! One thing I will try to do is obtain or design a new, secondary theme for the site to help address the color issues some members may have with the current theme. I have already added a new theme to help alleviate this issue, however, it is plain and doesn't include any of the extra features the current skin has, including the important aforementioned "Updates" box at the top of the page. It is only a very temporary solution until I can come up with something else for you lovelies. If you have any advice or requests in regards to a new theme, please don't hesitate to send me a message.
So About That Grand Canyon Pack--
As many of you know, Fawn is the roleplayer for Esperanza, the Grand Canyon Pack alphess. While Fawn is absent, this leaves the GC pack in a bit of a funk without a leader. So, the solution here is for us to hand out a new rank to a current member of the pack. The Beta rank is now open to all existing Grand Canyon wolves. If you'd like your character to apply for the Beta rank, please send me a private message. I will see who all is interested and provide you with further details from there. If no one else is interested, I will be offering up my own character, Lycurgus, to play the role. Whoever receives the Beta rank will be acting as the Alpha in Esperanza's absence (This means accepting and ranking new members, leading fights, etc). The reason for Esperanza's absence will just have to be made up by the Beta and alluded to in-character. Your character may or may not keep the rank when and if Esperanza returns. We'll just have to see how things go when we get there. I will attempt to update the GC hierarchy/roster in the meantime.
A Final Word From Me--
I want to thank all of our existing members for remaining active with this site. There have been several new threads up recently which is totally awesome! I would like to request that anyone who isn't currently involved in a thread, but is active on the site, try to get into posting ASAP. I'd like to see a bit more action among the Cougar Creek wolves, but the problem there is that they are short in members and losing wolves faster than gaining them. If anyone plans to create a new character, please consider making them a CC wolf. It would really help in balancing the packs out and, honestly, it's hard for Dex to be an alpha if he only has one or two other active pack members.
In Summary--
Stay active, try to advertise the site, make Cougar Creek wolves, and keep being awesome everyone! And any comments/questions/concerns should now be addressed to me!
